Today I'm preparing a recipe that I put together for my family that they just love. I don't really cook from recipes unless it is something I've never prepared before. You know as Hebrew women in this land of our captivity...we've had to adapt to what is available for us. I try to cook as healthy as possible. When we were in physical captivity...we had to prepare foods with whatever was given us by our captors...and because of that...we have learned to make nothing taste good...hence our health being sacrificed because they still sell us unhealthy foods in our communities...if you don't believe me...go to a supermarket in a so-called urban community and compare it to a supermarket in a suburban (white) community...the choice of food is vastly different...and the cost is too. Ask yourself why that is? Because they are killing us with the foods we eat...preservatives and chemical food additives...pesticides they use to grow our food...if they kill insects...what do you think it is doing to us? Anyway...here is my dinner for Shabbat tomorrow...I have a large family so I will give the ingredients and you can adapt it to your family size...Bon Appetit
Crock-pot Lamb Chops
10 Lamb chops
15 small to medium potatoes chopped in quarters
1 Green bell pepper sliced
1 red bell pepper sliced
1 yellow bell pepper sliced
1 medium size onion sliced
chopped green onions to sprinkle over the chops
carrots ( I use the organic prepackaged "baby" carrots)
Marinade
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tsp of seasoning salt ( I use Johnny's or Lawry's)
1/2 tsp of thyme (dry or fresh)
2 tsp minced garlic
mix together
Cut up your veggies and wash chops then coat all with the marinade
I place my chops on top of the veggies and place in crock-pot.
It's 9:26...so I set the temperature on medium high and go about my day...checking it every 30 minutes
I hope you enjoy it.
